Certificate with Honours
The Diploma in Theology is a foundational programme of theological study conducted mainly in English. It aims basically to prepare students for service in areas of Christian ministry. It also aims to facilitate students with foundational knowledge and skills for further theological studies. Students who have done well in the Certificate in Theology and Pastoral Ministry with Honours can continue their studies by enrolling in this programme.

Accreditation
The Certificate in Theology and Pastoral Ministry with Honours of the Sia-'a-toutai Theological College carries the accreditation of the South Pacific Association of the Theological Schools (SPATS). Review of the accreditation of this qualification will take place in 2006.

Entrance Requirements
Entry to the Certificate in Theology and Pastoral Ministry with Honours shall be determined at the end of the first semester of the second year of study in the Certificate in Theology and Pastoral Ministry programme. Students who pass all courses in the first two years of study and achieve a 70% overall grade point average shall qualify for entrance to the Certificate in Theology and Pastoral Ministry with Honours programme.

Academic Requirements
To qualify for the award of the Certificate in Theology and Pastoral Ministry with Honours from the Sia?atoutai Theological College, the student must fulfill all requirements, as follows:
-Tenure
Complete at least three years of full-time attendance at Sia'atoutai Theological College and comply with the discipline of the College. Complete all works within five (5) years of first registering for the Certificate in Theology and Pastoral Ministry programme. In special circumstances, the candidate, upon application and by the approval of the Faculty, may be allowed to extend his or her studies to a maximum of six (6) years.
-Courses
Pass all the required and elective courses in the third year of study with an overall grade of no less than 70%, satisfactorily complete and present a research project (equivalent of 3 courses) and all practical placements. There will normally be 29 required courses and 6 electives. Students who fail in any course may, at the discretion of the Principal and the Academic Dean, be removed from the Honours stream.
