| WELCOME TO SIA-'A-TOUTAI THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE |
|
Sia-'a-toutai Theological College belongs to the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga, though admission is open to all qualified candidates from some of the major Protestant denominations in the kingdom. Recently however, the college has also become the major theological and ministerial training centre for lay as well as ministerial candidates from Tongan Wesleyans and Methodists from New Zealand, Australia, and the United States of America.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Sia'atoutai Theological College has been established to serve the needs of the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga (The Methodist Church in Tonga). The tasks given to it are the preparation of men and women for the work of both lay and ordained ministry, the disciplined theological reflection upon the life and the work of the church, and the maintenance of the theological resources appropriate to the Tongan and global contexts. Students of the Sia'atoutai Theological College shall be given opportunity to develop their spiritual, academic, and physical skills through the various activities of the community. Upon graduation from the college, men and women should be equipped to take up roles of active service within the churches in Tonga and amongst Tongan communities overseas.
